Urgent Care Information
In response to reduced access to veterinary services in London and the surrounding area, we have launched Oak West Urgent Care. This clinic operates as a separate medical care facility within the current Oak West Animal Clinic building.
What is Oak West Urgent Care? We aim to provide veterinary care for patients in need of immediate assessment for acute medical conditions including, but not limited to wounds, respiratory distress, urinary tract infections, ear infections, eye concerns, vomiting and diarrhea. Our goal is to provide overflow services for veterinary clinics that are already facing a full caseload, or for clients that do not have a primary veterinarian.
We do not currently offer after hours emergency care. Intensive work ups that are not time sensitive will be directed back to their primary veterinarian for care. If there is anticipation for the need of overnight care, referral to specialty clinics outside of London will be necessary.
How do you contact Oak West Urgent Care? Please call us at 519-871-1560 prior to bringing your pet to the clinic. This phone number will only be available on THURSDAYS, FRIDAYS, and SATURDAYS from 9AM to 5PM. If possible, contact your regular veterinarian before calling Oak West Urgent Care.
Where is Oak West Urgent Care located? Oak West Urgent Care is located within the Oak West Animal Clinic building, at 1311 Riverbend Road, London, Ontario.
What to expect when coming to Oak West Urgent Care: We will have you fill out an information sheet upon arrival, and one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians will triage your pet. We will tend to patients in order of urgency, and wait times will vary day to day. If your pet is stable and our caseload is full with more critical cases, we may not be able to see your pet that day – however, we will continue to keep you updated. Please understand that we are operating with a small team, and your patience is much appreciated.
